Flash and its many uses from web design to interface and software development is a powerful tool, unfortunately these days because flash is not (easily) DDA compliant or Search Engine Friendly it has started to get a bad wrap, and thats crazy.

If your site needs to be found online through the search engines then a full flash site is bad idea, searche engines cant read what is in a flash movie and therefore see's basically an empty site. That said if you are say a sucessful, well anything, but for now lets just say photographer and you just want to point very specific people to your site to show off your work then flash can really deliver it with that sometimes very important wow factor that (X)HTML can lack.

If you need the wow factor and you have to be Search Engine Friendly then a Hybrid site is the answer.
A hybrid site is basically an HTML site with carefully integrated flash areas, many argue this is the best way to use flash.
